ICON, leader of advanced construction technologies pioneering 3D printing robotics, today announced its newest homes are coming to the community of Wimberley Springs, located just 40 miles south of Austin in Wimberley, TX and are available for sale today. The eight single-family residential homes feature designs from ICON’s digital architecture catalog and range from four to five bedrooms and 2,900 to 4,100 square feet. Currently under construction, these high-performance, energy-efficient homes leverage ICON’s technology platform including digital architecture, design, robotic construction, low-carbon building material and proprietary software tools including a digital real estate platform for sales.

The newest ICON homes feature exquisite architecture, beautifully designed while offering enhanced comfort and a tranquil escape. Homebuyers can select from four different floor plans from ICON’s AlphaBeta and TextNext collections. The AlphaBeta home designs are ICON’s most spacious and luxurious collection, introducing contemporary open floor plans with light-filled interiors that blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces. The TexNext home designs by world-renowned architecture firm BIG-Bjarke Ingels Group, honor Texas history and architectural heritage while reimagining and renewing it for the future. The unique architecture of these ICON homes has been further adapted to reflect the local landscape, presenting extraordinary designs that integrate the natural beauty of Wimberley living.

Wimberley Springs home features include:

High thermal performance: the concrete construction of our homes provide thermal mass that slows heat transfer into and out of the home allowing the structure to better withstand temperature swings, like a cold snap or heat wave, without increasing air conditioning or heating costs.

Energy efficiency: Homes will be certified to the EnergyStarⓇ home standard developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Energy Star certified homes are independently verified and field tested. ICON homes typically receive a Home Energy Rating System (HERS) rating between 40-55, meaning ICON homes may be 45-60% more energy efficient than a standard new home*. The final HERS rating will be field verified and will vary from home to home based on floor plan and final field test results.

Sustainably built: ICON’s proprietary low-carbon material CarbonX, when paired with ICON’s wall system and robotic construction methods, is the lowest carbon residential building system to be used at scale. (MIT White Paper)

Strength and durability: The printed wall system of ICON homes have been tested to withstand wind speeds of up to 250 mph.**

Smart home equipped: Included in the homes are smart thermostats for energy efficient operation and a smart video doorbell.

Elevated finishes: Each home is equipped with large format floor-to-ceiling windows, standing seam metal roofs, porcelain tile backsplash, quartz countertops, state of the art LG stainless steel appliances and induction cooktops. Primary bedrooms feature dual vanities and freestanding soaking tubs. Neutral tones encapsulate the finish out collection to further merge the earthen aesthetic between indoor and out.

Located in the Wimberley Springs neighborhood, the innovative homes are three miles from the Wimberley town center and minutes from hiking trails, swimming holes, wineries, golf courses, esteemed restaurants, retail, home decor, garden shops and more. The picturesque, quaint community of Wimberley is in close proximity to the pecan tree-lined Cypress Creek. Whether homebuyers are seeking a serene retreat or a family-friendly community, Wimberley Springs is the ideal place to call home.
